Three taps from your scoring record

  1. Sign in to England Golf. In Chalk, go to Settings, then England Golf, and tap Sync scores. England Golf's own sign-in page opens. Use your My England Golf email and password.
  2. Open your scoring record. Chalk picks up your cards as the page loads them and reads every page of your history.
  3. Import. Chalk matches each card to its course and asks you to pick the course when it can't be sure. Sync again after your next round; cards already in Chalk are skipped.

Imported cards look like a club comp card in your round history: the competition name across the top, your gross, points, differential and index, and the scores hole by hole. Not sure whether a round counted as a comp or general play? Our guide to general play and competition scores explains the difference.

Your record, with the rest of your golf

Once your cards are in Chalk, they count everywhere your own rounds do. The Stats tab shows your scoring average and trend, how you score on par 3s, 4s and 5s, your front and back nines and how you play each hole of each course.

Your handicap card shows your current Handicap Index, how far it has moved and your low point over the last year. Chalk's handicap estimate uses England Golf's own differentials for imported rounds, so the PCC and the index you held on the day are the ones England Golf used.

Imported rounds at your home club count towards your membership cost per round on the Costs tab. Away rounds show “Fee pending” until you add what you paid, pre-filled with the last green fee you entered for that course.

Your login stays with England Golf

You type your details into England Golf's page, not into a Chalk form, and Chalk doesn't keep your England Golf password. It keeps your own cards and Handicap Index and nothing else from the page. Cards that belong to other golfers, such as a playing partner's, are left out.

The import reads your record and never writes to it. Keep registering and submitting your scores the way your club asks, in the My England Golf app or on the club's computer.

Questions

Is Chalk the My England Golf app?

No. Chalk Golf is an independent app and isn't affiliated with or endorsed by England Golf. You still pre-register general play rounds and submit scores in the My England Golf app or at your club. Chalk reads your record so it sits alongside the rest of your golf.

Does Chalk send scores to England Golf?

No. The import only reads. Chalk never submits, changes or deletes anything in your England Golf record.

What do I need to import my scores?

Chalk on your iPhone and the email and password you use for My England Golf. Your scores have to be in England Golf's WHS record, which they are once your club or the app has submitted them.

Does Chalk keep my England Golf password?

No. You sign in on England Golf's own page, which opens inside Chalk. Chalk reads the scores that page loads for you and keeps only your own cards and Handicap Index.

Why do some cards only show a total?

England Golf doesn't hold hole-by-hole scores for every card. When it only has the total, Chalk imports the total and the card says so.

Can I import scores from Scottish Golf, Wales Golf or Golf Ireland?

Not yet. The import reads England Golf's member site, so it needs an England Golf login.

Is the England Golf import part of Pro?

No. It works on every plan, and syncing again later only brings in the cards you don't already have.
