Example

Nassau splits one singles match into three independent results. You play match play on holes 1–9, 10–18, and across the whole round; winning the front does not automatically win the overall match.

How to play Nassau

  1. 01Play each hole head to head
  2. 02Track front and back separately
  3. 03Track the full-round match too

How scoring works

Each segment uses match-play scoring: a lower hole score wins one hole, a tie halves it. Chalk records the front nine, back nine and overall 18 as separate results. It counts settled segment wins; an early lead is not yet a win.

On the cardThree separate results

Front 9Wins 2 up—
Back 9—Wins 1 up
Overall 18Wins 1 up—

Alex wins two segments and Sam wins one. Each segment is decided independently.

Score Nassau in Chalk

Chalk's Nassau mode is singles for two players and tracks the three segment results. It does not automatically score presses or settle money wagers.

Before you tee offChoose gross or net hole scores and agree separately on stakes, presses and ties if your group uses them.
