Example

Quota combines Stableford-style points with an individual target. Higher-handicap golfers have a lower target, so everyone competes on points above or below their own quota.

How to play Quota

  1. 01Set target: 36 − Playing Handicap
  2. 02Earn gross points each hole
  3. 03Compare points with your target

How scoring works

Chalk's default 18-hole target is 36 minus Playing Handicap, floored at zero. Hole points are based on gross score versus par: 0 for double bogey or worse, 1 for bogey, 2 for par, 3 for birdie, 4 for eagle and 5 for albatross. Highest points minus target wins. The target can be changed when setting up the game.

Winner—Alex by 1

Alex wins because +3 beats +2, even though the players had different targets.

Score Quota in Chalk

Choose Quota for the points-versus-target leaderboard. Chalk uses gross hole points and puts the handicap adjustment in the target, so it is not counted twice.

Before you tee offConfirm the Playing Handicap and whether the group wants the default 36-point base or a different target for a shorter round.
