Stableford rules & scoring
Individual · 1 or more players
Stableford rewards good holes without letting one disaster ruin the whole round. Each hole earns points against par, usually after handicap strokes have been applied.
How to play Stableford
- 01Work out the net hole score
- 02Convert that score to points
- 03Add points across the round
How scoring works
On the standard table, net double bogey or worse is 0, bogey 1, par 2, birdie 3, eagle 4 and albatross 5. The player with the most points wins. Chalk can also show gross scoring when the match is set up that way.
| Gross | Net | Points |
|---|---|---|
| 6 | 5 · bogey | 1 |
| 5 | 4 · par | 2 |
| 4 | 3 · birdie | 3 |
A gross 5 becomes a net par and earns 2 points on this hole.
