Foursomes rules & scoring
Team · 4+ (even) players
Foursomes is alternate shot. Two partners share one ball for the hole, taking turns on every stroke, and alternate who tees off on odd and even holes.
How to play Foursomes
- 01Choose odd- and even-hole tee players
- 02Alternate every shot on one ball
- 03Record one team score
How scoring works
The pair takes one combined score on each hole. If Alex tees off on hole 1, Sam takes the second shot, Alex the third, and so on. Sam tees off on hole 2 regardless of who holed out on hole 1. Add the team scores; the lower total wins in Chalk's team leaderboard.
| Shot | Player | Ball |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Alex | Tee |
| 2 | Sam | Approach |
| 3 | Alex | Chip |
| 4 | Sam | Putt in |
That is a team 4. On the next, even-numbered hole Sam tees off.
